An Auburn Freshman LB Is Talking WILD Smack About Ryan Williams and Jalen Milroe Ahead of the Iron Bowl and Says He'll Never Lose to Alabama While He's in School

There's confidence, irrational confidence, arrogance and then whatever the hell you call this from Auburn freshman linebacker DeMarcus Riddick. This guy is doling out bulletin board material to Alabama like it's Halloween candy.

I'm all for guys having some swagger and edge to them and not necessarily playing nice with a rival, but putting a freshman in front of microphones and having him declare that the best receiver in college football actually sucks is quite the way to start Iron Bowl week. Riddick also guaranteed four straight wins over Alabama — which Auburn hasn't done since it won six straight from 2002-07 — because he has supposedly never lost to a rival, neglecting the fact Auburn got killed by Georgia earlier this season in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. I guess congratulations are in order for Riddick going undefeated in rivalry games at Chilton County High School, however.

I actually like this kid's mentality, I just question putting this out there as a double-digit underdog when it is much more likely to come back and bite you in the ass than look prophetic. I am now rooting very hard for either Jalen Milroe or Ryan Williams to have a play in this game where they make Riddick look silly. Milroe trucking this kid en route to a touchdown run would be an all-time clip.

Alabama may not have College Football Playoff hopes on the line anymore, but the Iron Bowl will still have at least one great storyline to monitor.
